Thai Caramelized Pork

I love cooking this because I think I’m addicted to flavor of the anise seeds. I use pork tenderloin or boneless pork butt. This takes 15 minutes, easy to cook too.

  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 small red chillies, seeded and chopped
  • 1 TBS ginger, minced
  • 2 TBS hoisin sauce
  • 2 TBS lime juice
  • 1 TBS anise seeds
  • 1 lb boneless pork butt/tenderloin


Place the soy sauce, sugar, chillies, ginger, hoisin sauce, lime juice, and anise in a frying pan over medium heat and cook, stirring for 4-5 minutes or until the mixture thickens slightly.

Cut the pork into pieces and add to the pan. Cook for 2 minutes on each side or until tender. Remove the pork from the pan and cool slightly. Simmer the pan juices until thickened. Serve with salad.
